About the Practice

I am a climate adaptation practitioner and environmental scientist with over 20 years of experience working across climate science, international development, and community-based resilience planning. I support public agencies, organizations, and communities in advancing nature-based, multi-benefit responses to sea-level rise, flooding, heat, air pollution, and watershed challenges.

I have led the development of more than 20 climate adaptation programs and secured over multi-million in funding to advance shoreline resilience, flood risk reduction, habitat restoration, and equitable access to nature. I work across disciplines and sectors, bringing together agencies, scientists, designers, residents, indigenous and tribal partners, and environmental justice communities to support coordinated and effective climate adaptation efforts.

A central focus of my work is community engagement as a core component of planning and decision-making. I design participatory processes that enable communities to actively shape climate adaptation strategies through involvement in planning, design, and implementation. This includes developing accessible educational tools, building community capacity to engage in technical and civic processes, and supporting more inclusive, informed participation in public decision-making.

I bring experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), having led evaluations of multi-million-dollar environmental and development programs. My work helps organizations assess impact, strengthen programs, and make strategic decisions over time.

My background in climate and ecosystem science, including research roles at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and UC Berkeley, provides a strong technical foundation that informs my work and allows me to bridge scientific analysis with applied planning and community processes.

Through my consulting practice, I guide clients from early concept development through planning, implementation, and governance. I help align technical analysis, community priorities, and institutional processes to deliver climate adaptation initiatives that are both equitable and durable, supporting long-term resilience outcomes.
